"Magdala" è un documentario antropologico e culturale che vuole raccontare il grande senso di devozione appartenente agli abitanti di un piccolo comune nel Sud Italia, Uggiano La Chiesa, in provincia di Lecce. Ogni anno, il 22 Luglio, viene celebrata la festa patronale dedicata alla santa, Maria Maddalena, la cui statua viene trasportata sulle spalle dei devoti lungo le strade del paese.
"Magdala" is an anthropological and cultural documentary that wants to tell the great sense of devotion of people from South Italy. The short film is set in the small town named Uggiano La Chiesa (province of Lecce, Puglia), which has long been showing his veneration to the patron Saint, Mary of Magdala, better known as St. Mary Magdalene. Every year, July 22, locals celebrate the rite of the procession trough the town's streets, head by the statue of the Holy One carried on devotees' shoulders.
